There are two players in the standardized testing world when it comes to college admission:
The SAT and the ACT.
Until the last few years, it was believed that the SAT was the more sought after test when it came to Ivy League schools and East/West coast colleges. What we're seeing now is a shift in preference to the ACT among both students and colleges. Regardless of geography, students are opting to take this test in place of the SAT. This trend shows no signs of slowing down, particularly with the new SAT being released this Spring. With no live score metrics to compare against, students will be playing the role of "guinea pig" as they take the first few rounds of the new SAT. Students will also have to consider the fact they will be waiting months to receive test scores. Because of the uncertainty and lack of training materials, ACT sign ups will likely see a big spike. As parents look for the best way to navigate the standardized testing field, it appears that the ACT may be the best option over the next few years.
